What should my lighting schedule be?

Alright so I have a 40br with a 4x39watt t5 fixture. 2 actinic bulbs and 2 daylight bulbs. I was wondering what my light schedule should be?

If it were me, I would run all four bulbs for 10 hours a day and have the actinics run for an hour on each side of that. Have the on and off times set so to your scedule so you can see it while the lights are on.
For example, the lights for my tank start turning on at 10am and are completely out by 10pm because I am at home in the evenings.

Does anyone run 2 days or more per week with no lights at all?

I would agree w/ the 10 hours. I've always run mine everyday except at the beginning when I had an algae problem and left the lights off for one day which helped quite a bit actually.

If you don't have any algae problems 10 should be good, if you do get algae blooms you can cut it back a couple hours or adjust nutrient import/export etc.
