Question Live Rock in Sump

I have been looking into setting up a sump for my tank, and a majority of the sumps ive seen have had live rock in it. If i set up my sump it will be inside my stand without any lighting. Do i need to provide the live rock with special lighting or will the live rock be ok without it?

It will be fine mine is in the basement tank upstairs. The use as a filter is the benifit value you are looking for.

I have seen lots of people use a worklight or something similar from home depot or lowe's for the fuge. That is what I have bought to go in mine once I get to build my new fuge.

That is for your algae and for the critters in your fuge.

Light over your sump turned on when your main tank light is off will also help with ph swings.

I have about 200# of LR in my sump. The only issue I have, is I have to remove the rock frequently to suck out all the bad stuff that accumulates in the sump.
