Can I get away with (1) MP40?
I have a mixed reef tank and I'd like to replace my (2) K4's with (1) MP40W ES for my 100 gallon tank (60 x 18 x 20). With these things being expensive I can only afford one right now. You think I'd be ok with one for now?

Sure, one will work, for now. You'll probably need to keep one of the K4's running as well though. I have two MP40Ws on my 77 gal, 4 ft long. Purchased one and the second about a year later on the buy/sell forum.

You'll probably want 2, as Mike31154 stated run one of the k4's for now and try another in the selling forum.

Thanks guys, I'll get one for now and have the K4 at the other end. I'll prolly get another MP40W ES a couple months from now.

I have 2 mp40wes now and cant say enough about them. Working on the battery backup. I'm waiting for the next power outage when I have to stay up all night moving water to push me over the edge to get it.
