argh... new tank and front panel off center.
well happy day today i just picked up my new Aqueon 50 breeder tank.
well that is until i took a closer look. it appears the front(or back i guess) panel was put on a little off center. the pics seem to exaggerate it some but by my measurement it's sticking out a hair more than 1/16". which it really wouldn't bother me i'd just use it as the back of the tank but I'm worried about the seal. you can clearly see it's not sealing the entire contact area. nothing to worry about or not worth the risk? |

Since it is new I would take it back.
The tank looks overbuilt so I doubt its an issue but... I would still take it back no question about it. Whoever put that tank together wasn't paying attention and I would rather have a tank put together by someone who was paying attention.

i think i'm going to try to take it back. next time i'll be sure to open in the store.
i don't know about overbuilt but it seems pretty good. it has 1/4 tempered bottom with 1/4 sides and 5/16 front and back. |

A lot of 50g tanks that size have 1/8" end panes.
