hate sugar sand want heavier sand, SWAP?

im really getting sick of the sugar sand as much as i love the color and look im really getting sick of blowing around the tank as it is right in the dead center bottom of my tank is a huge gap where you can see the glass. its already caused some serious scratches in the tank which im seriously not happy with, i'm thinking of going back to crushed coral or something alot heavier so it wont get blown around. is there anything special i should think about doing.

was hoping i could just pull rock/fish out put in a container, and pump water out into brutes rinse out the tank and the sand and drop in the new sand. will this cause a cycle or anything?

I would say you'll have a small spike maybe... Not bad though. I would go with a 50/50 on the sand (live/dry).

I bought 160lbs. of Marco rocks sugar sand and after a week I took it out and replaced it as well. Just too fine to keep down.

I use Florida beach sand. It is a little darker.

Caribes Select Seafloor grade is great for not blowing around.

Just put a layer of coarser grade sand on top. The two grades will mix together and the coarser sand will help keep the fines from blowing around.

Won't the heavier sand sink to the bottom, where as the finer same will eventually settle on the top.
