APEX Networking and Probe Installation?

I also posted this in the Neptune Forum, but I am itching to work on this tonight.

Okay so I just got started installing my new APEX, wow this thing is going to be awesome. Do I have to change my router to Static IP rather than the DHCP to be able to remote access the APEX?

Also can I pigtail 3 250 Electronic MH ballasts to the first outlet of the Energy Bar 8?

And I was just reading do the ph probes go all the way in the water or only partially in, also how about the temperature probe?

Thanks for the help.

You need to give the Apex a static IP and forward port 80 on your router to the Apex IP. You'll need to register at www.dyndns.org so that you can reach it via the internet.

No idea on the MH ballasts. You can do up to 15amps on the EB8, but I know they make some heavy duty 4 jack model for big light setups.

The Ph and temp probes can be fully submerged if you wish.

Temperature probe can be fully submersed, pH probes should not be submerged over the top where the wire goes in(according to my LFS owner), although I have always submerged mine for years with no problems.

Outlets 4 and 8 are relay outlets and can handle up to 10 amps, the rest are triac outlets up to 5 amps- and no more than 15 on the whole strip. You could run the ballasts off of one, Im not sure anout the inrush curretn though. I would use an expansion outlet, this way the ballasts won't take away from the rest of the strip.
