Dark Brown Algae Matting on Rock
Dark Brown Algae Matting on Rock specifically-not on sand -- would this be a high phosphate issue?

I would lean towards cyano. It's been my experience that the notion that cyano needs low flow to prosper is not true. I've got lots of it in my fuge and there's plenty of flow in there. I tend to think that it's just a natural phase of the algal cycle. But less nutrients will definitely help.
