M80 Ballasts
Are all 250w HQI MH Ballasts considered to be M80s?
Reason I am asking is, my Outer Orbit fixture came with magnetic ballast to drive the 250w HQI bulbs that it came with, if I wanted to use those same ballast to run a 250w Radium 20k, would that be okay? |

I just posted I just put in the lumatek 250 dimmable with the hqi setting. It fires the radium bulb up in under 1 min. and the look is great. All it says on the box is that it is digtal electronic ballast. I dont know if it is a 80

The lumatek is NOT a m80 ballast. a m80 ballast is a magnetic ballast

Are they big heavy external ballasts? If so more than likely it is a m80 ballast. The lumen tech ballast doesn't drive a 250w radium to spec ( 330w)
