GHL question

Hi all, im saving up for the ghl 3 at the moment and i need something putting into layman terms. Whats the difference between the ghl, ex version and PAB version. Will i need the expenive version? All i want to do from the star is use the system over the internet, controll the fans, controll the calcium reactor, and recieve text messages if things go belly up, simu lights and maybe some tunze pumps. I will be plugging the skimmer pump into it to so i can turn the skimmer off if needed. Oh auto top up too.
