t5 bulbs need replacing

i bought a current usa 4 bulb 24watt t5 fixture some months ago... ive been told that the bullbs that come with it 2 460nm actinic and 2 10,000k current brand as well arent the most effective in fact not very effective... my question is or are i want to change the bulbs and id like for there to be a more blue look in the daytime than there currently is but i still want to achieve good growth... whats reccommended actinic-wise and white light -wise... and what brands are tried and true

ati, geissman, uvl, and korallen-zunct are popular brands. reefgeek is a good place to look. for a blue look you could do 3ati blue plus and 1ati blue special. another popular look to bring out reds and purples is 2ati blue plus with 1 kz fiji purple and 1 blue special. currently my six bulb configuration is 4 ati blue plus 1uvl 75.25 and 1uvl super actinic. I really like it. check the t5 thread for further suggestions.

I have a 6 bulb current fixture and I am running 4 ATI blue +, Fiji Purple, and Aquascience 22K.
Has a much nicer color than the stock current lights.

would all those blue ati and a purple fiji produce growth or just a cool look

The T5 thread will answer pretty much any question you have. GrimReefer seems to be the Guru of T5s.

I don't think I know enough to answer that, but the Grim Reefer in the T5 Q&A forum would know. He is the one who suggested that bulb line up for me.
