Scwd
Hey everyone. Ive been thinking about getting the SCWD for my tank. It looks like a great thing for a reef tank. My only concern is, will it maintain the same GPH that the pump puts out on a closed loop system?

Had one, the alternating effect is cool, and its a lot cheaper than and oceansmotions...but it robs a lot of flow, I would guess maybe 20-30%. Don't make the mistake I made, I used metal hose clamps on the tubing at the scwd and they rusted. fortunately my sump was in the garage so the flood didn't do any damage.

I've got one, I love it.
I'm not sure how much head it adds, but anything you put in line to control water direction is going to reduce flow. If you are concerned that your flow with it would be too low you could always get a slightly larger pump.
