MP40W through 3/4" glass
Has anyone installed a MP40 on a tank with 3/4" glass?
I've read stories of the pump slipping down the sides of tanks with 1/2" glass. I'm wondering if I should even try if my tank will be made of 3/4" glass or just stick with Tunze.

It will be fine, you just need to take off the rubber cover and they stick. Also be sure to use the sticky things they give you to hold the wire up as a backup. I did not do that originally and it slid down, but since then I have had no problems.

I have 19mm glass, i think slightly thicker than 3/4". My sticky things seem to stay on. Every now and again one of the powerheads falls off though. I have 4 so not a major problem as when they fall off they quit working, so don't blow sand all around or anything nasty, just less flow.

They are adjustable which a lot of people don't realise.
Around the rim is a castle effect which when turned they slot closer or further away which allows the magnet to be closer when the glass is thicker. Robin |
