quick question about cycling

Would you recommend cycling with the Protein skimmer on or off?

Thanks
Chris

I've always had good results cycling with the protein skimmer on and adding mb7 from day 1.

Re: quick question about cycling

You want it off. Mainly because it really doesn't do anything. You have no bioload In the tank so the foam head is always fluxuating and it's just wasting energy In my opinon

Ok i'll keep it off. only had it on for a little because I couldn't wait to see the skimmer running, lol. but its been off now. Thanks everyone for the help.

Right now I have some raw shrimp to cycle, since im using marco rocks. Should I add mb7 too?
