Washing machine with a cup of bleach, then another rinse cycle and a day to air dry. Thats how I clean mine.

As for buying them, I try and buy that kind of thing from my LFS. They have to stay in business somehow.

I'm looking for more socks too. So far the cheapest I've found is BulkReefSupply.com. 5 for $4.80 on a dozen different styles/sizes. With shipping I'm looking at $6.39 a piece. If you find better, let me know. I'm ordering in a few days.

I spray mine off with a hose in my slop sink. I try to never leave the same filter in the tank for more than 4 days, 3 is better. Once every 4-6 months I wash them in the washer with bleach as described above. I keep 4 and cycle through them.

Yeah, I think I paid 11.99 for mine. But I only needed 4, and got them a few at a time. If your buying bulk you might consider asking the LFS if he can can get you bulk for a discount?

I read somewhere that people ordered theirs from McMaster Carr, $4-5 each if I remember correctly

Also, Filterbag.com
