well, i'll say this: with an ro only system, the best you are going to get is water stripped of up to 98 percent of tds. with the addition of di, that goes to 100% removal. using the premium series units available at buckeyefieldsupply.com as an example, the premium series 75gpd ro unit is listed as of this posting at $129.00. the rodi premium series 75gpd is $169.00. the difference being $40.00 and a guaranteed 0 tds reading at the end of it all. imo, if you're already going for the ro (which is a great idea) you would be even better off going all the way for the rodi.

You can add it later. There is a sponser on Reef Central from Ohio called Buckeye Field Supply. Russ was very helpful getting me into a system that made sense, I'm sure he could help you also, you can find him in the vendor forums.

yeah i think im going to get the DI filter also... from coralife. are auto stops essential for both my waste water and my RO water also i only have enough room for maybe a brute 40G container and something really small for my waste water because of my small area to work with...what are some of the supplies i will NEED for setting up a basic RO/DI filter?

I think I decided to go with the coralife pure-flow 2 4 stage 50gpd. I have a 75 gallon tank. Do i need much bigger of a system?
