do i need atinic lighting?
hello i am fairly new to the hobby and have a 130g in the wall tank with 2 250watt metal halides with 20k bulbs.. this will be a reef tank I am slowly adding corals. i was just wondering if i need atinic lighting as well. or will the halides be enough

Nope, actinic lighting is a luxury.

You will be fine with just using the 20K halides.
If you dont find you are getting the growth you want, you could drop down to a lower Kelvin like a 10K. If you do, then you will likely want to suppliment it with Actinics. VHO actinics are the nicest IMO. Better color versus PC or T5 actinics. |
