I have 2 percula clowns in a 30 gallon and I want to get them an anemone or frogspawn coral but i don't want it to take up most of my tank. What choice do i have?

I feel your pain...lol
I use to have a LTA (before crash) and he took up the whole left 1/2 of my tank...and I have a 55g!
Torch corals can get real big too, but, might be a better choice than anemones. Just remember! No matter what you choose, it does not mean it will host the clowns!!!! Your clowns may decide to never go to anything! They may decide to like, say mushrooms or a toadstool....

Edit: Pretty much, you don't have to get anything special for clowns, they will be just fine w/o.
I also realized I put torch corals, when I meant frogspawn...hmmm lol....but torch corals work too

Frogspawn is a great choice. If it gets big you can just frag branches off.

Any anemone that those clowns will host will get big - you can try the coral route - but unless you're talking about a cinnamon or clarkii, there is no guarantee they will ever host.

the problem with smaller corals and anemoneas for clowns to host, is that since the hosting animal is smaller, the clown has a tendency to kill its host from trying to squeeze in and not having room to swim

Sad to admit (and probably a good reson why I never took pics of it) that my clowns on my other tank hosted my wavy green hair algae... They loved the stuff!!

My frogspawn started as 1 head and the clown didn't seem to bother it much, although now that it's up around 9 heads the clown does fit better!

I had my pair of clowns host a flower pot for a while ... until I removed it (Those terra cotta ones) - admittingly very unsightly - but it did the job

Currently it's a small cave made from rock.

Ultimately it's up to them, but you really do have a lot of options to tempt them with (Corals or otherwise)

I have a cinnamon clown, and it seems to snuggle in my Duncan coral pretty often. However, I have also seen it between the heads of my candycane coral, and even rubbing up against the zoas. It completely ignores the frogspawn that I bought, thinking that the clownfish might enjoy it. If you buy something for your clowns, just be prepared for them to ignore it, LOL!

my cinnamon clown rubs up against everything except sps. hammer, frogspawn, zoas, mushrooms, candy canes, gsp, xenia, colt coral, etc. When i first got him/her she/he just sat in a colony of zoas for a day.

i say just keep trying out different corals until your pair finds one they like.

Mine hosted in xenia until I got a BTA. Needless to say the xenia didn't like it. I'd be worried a big clown might beat my frogspawn to death.

I have a cinnamon that host's 3 bubble tips, a frogspawn, a hammer and a seabae - I also have two perks that host a powerhead because that is the only darn thing in the tank that the cinnamon won't host.

my picasso clowns host my grape euphyllia, 2 holes they have dug in the sand, an acan lord, and a cave. if you are looking for something that will stay smaller get a branching hammerhead or a torch, when it gets bigger than you want just cut off what you dont like and sell it to fund a new coral you really want!

My clowns love their Xenia forest. The stuff is hardy and grows like weeds. I have a mix of Pom Pom and Pulsing Xenia. They seem to like the larger Pulsing Xenia.

I had a small Ocellaris host a big colony of green fuzzy mushrooms. Currently I have a Clarkii and a big Ocellaris in my 75. They have been together for over 5 years, and even hosted the same things at times, but I recently changed tanks, and now one hosts a cave, and the other hosts spots he hollows out in the sand. They are so busy fueding over the new digs that they completely ignore all the great wavy fuzzy corals and stick to their spots. The Clarkii is coming out as soon as I can catch him.

I'd go with branching frogspawn. If it gets too big, just frag off some branches...
