Aussie Elegance Coral Placement

Hey guys. I need some opinions from some people who know what they're talking about. I just bought an Aussie Elegance coral and I've read conflicting things on placement.

Ideally: I'd be able to set it on top of the small island in my tank (about 1/2 way up on a 55 gallon under some PC's with moderate flow). Some say it HAS TO go directly in the sandbed, other say it could be zap glued onto the live rock as long as the bottom tissue doesn't touch the rock and get irritated. The shell is cone shaped to begin with so I dont know how natural the guy would feel glued to a flat rock like that. Anyone have any ideas?
