I have some older pictures from when I was selling all my mushroom covered rocks -- all the rocks were covered. Will never have then in my tank again.

There is a store in Deerfield that used to sell mushrooms for 25 bucks a pop. If you could get half that, you could build a new 120 gallon setup.

That would have been sweet. Those shots are from about 3-4 years ago.

People also say that GSP is nuisance. I personally love that stuff, and it looks great when used creatively and not allowing it to dominate a tank.

GSP took over my entire 14g BioCube in about 4 years. It covered over my zoas, monti cap, and everything else...it encrusts so hard to the rock there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it or remove it. I didn't take pictures because i hated how it looked...

I'll post pics of my hair mushrooms and xenia overruns. My hair mushrooms almost put the mushroom pics above seem like nothing. Lol. Then again the hair mushrooms are staying put and not expanding onto anything but where they are. It's still a large rock covered in them though.

Will post this evening.

I didn't have much luck getting my gsp to grow when I did have it. I wish it grew like that it would give me something to trade up for nicer corals. Plus it's better than algae taking over your tank.

My favorite use for GSP is to attach it to the back wall of a tank, and use it as sort of a natural backdrop. Aim a powerhead or return nozzle at it and watch it wave. It adds a great effect to the tank.

I think you'll end up hating it. When I first started in this hobby, I didn't have many corals, so thought it woul be cool to have a ton of xenia. Four years later and I still haven't been able to get it all out of my tank. I hate it...

I'm not there yet, but here's my blue waving hand coral (think it's some sort of anthelia). My husband really likes it and thinks I should just let it go crazy. But I do the tank maintenance and I see trouble down the road. I also have yellow polyps going nuts as well.
