Apex Display staying black

After updating firmaware to 4.03 5B10 The display will no longer come on or initiate feed modes. Can anything be done? Aquaserve is off. A controller added extra EB8 and extra display were deleted.

Can I go back to original firmware where things worked correctly before?

I will not use the WXM module if it means the system will function correctly again.

Can anything be done? This is my sisters brand new just purchased system that isn't even a month old. I have written to Curt, posted this thread, posted the problems in my other thread, posted the problem in the 4.03 beta thread and have yet to hear anything in regards to help.

I live 90 miles away from this system and cannot just drop by if this stops working even farther.

I go home tomorrow.

During the past two firmware upgrades, my display did the same thing. Couldn't get it back to save my life. Ended up getting a RMA from support and sending it in both times.

Some things you can try...
Reload the firmware and web pages, make sure it takes both (I'd use the newest beta, it's supposed to fix this issue)
Make sure the display module is updated to SW rev 9 (if it won't take the module update, try unplugging/ plugging in display while the module update is running)

When I updated this past time, I unplugged my display and waited till the base had accepted the firmware and web pages. Not sure if this helped but it beats having to send the display back to Neptune

Version 4.03 5B10 is the latest which I installed friday night. Reloading it is the only thing I haven't tried. I will give it a try. Thank you.

Everything flashed successfully while having the display unhooked. I turned off system after flashing, plugged in display, powered up and display is still black. Outlets on second EB8 still not functioning correctly hardwired to the laptop or on the network.

Sorry that didn't help. Can you see the display module in the configuration---> module set-up page and is it on SW rev 09?

You might try PM'ing RussM, Kenargo or Aquamanic, they may know a telenet code that can re-initialize the display.

I have a Disp_2 with 009 and shows as ok. It won't let me delete it plugged in or not. When I had one display showing a second showed up as well as a third EB8. I am using two EB8's. It wouldn't let me delete the third one so I deleted the second and copied my programming over. Some outlets work correctly on that EB8 while others will not. The first EB8 is working fine.

I just figured out the EB8 problem.

Module setup page. Delete outlets. There was a list of them there with unfamilar names that I didn't put there along with the Lunar Sim and WXM that I did put there. Outlets are working now.

It sounds like display 2 is your 'real' display and display 1 is now a ghost. You should be able to delete display 1 from the module setup page.

I did delete the display 1 when the ghost appeared. I figured out how to delete the display 2 but now it won't recognize any display. I even reflashed the unit after deleting display 2. I unhooked everything except for one EB8 when I flashed then restarted. There is no add module selection for display, just DC4, DC8, Aquasurf & Lunar Sim. My WXM, Lunar Sim and PM2 are all working fine.

I removed the WXM and got the display back as Disp_1 and using firmware 4.03 5B10 after trying an older firmware. I don't think I will be trying to use it again until another weekend.

There's a dimming parameter that you access from the display module: System - Display Setup - Night Brightness. Maybe that's what you're seeing?

Yes. That was why it went dim. Was set on 0.

Thank you!
