Help with my Oceanic 14G Nano!
I have noticed over the last couple of days the top of the water has accumulated some sort of film floating on the surface. I did a water change about a week ago. Everything seems happy enough, clowns/lps corals. I have not tested the water yet. The only thing I have tested in the last couple days is the salinity which is at 1.023. Please advise. I also have noticed an acumulation of some kind of pinkish stuff on my added Koralia powerhead.
Currently I am using the stock equipment outside of adding the powerhead. |

You need more surface agitation. Point that koralia up a little bit so the surface of the water tumbles just a bit.

+1 on the surface agitation.
The pink stuff is probably coraline algae, does it wipe of easily or is it ON there? If it does not wipe off it is coraline and a good sign, if it wipes off it is not coraline and a picture would help in IDing what it is.

The surface film is DOC's, disolved organic compounds. Surface agitation helps, as does skimming. I'm not sure if they make a skimmer to fit inthe back chamber of that size biocube or not. Another option is to lay a thick paper towel over the surface of the water. The film attaches to the paper towel and is easily removed.
