How do I plumb an eheim return pump externally?

Hello,

Please bare with me. I'd like to use hard pvc for all the plumbing. My sump's return section is plumbed with a bulkhead to run the return pump externally.

How do I plumb the eheim into the bulkhead? And how should I connect PVC from the eheim back up to the tank's two bulkheads?

Thanks for the help,

Cody

Use the barb fitting it comes with and then put a little peice of rubber house on it then
get two barb fitting to slip so you can
connect it to the PVC.

like this^^^

What's the best way to plug the bulkhead? I'd rather have a bit of heat rather than hear a loud pump all the time.

Just screw a plug in to the bulk head if it is threaded. If it is not you can glue a plug in.

Cool, yeah its threaded. That's what I'll do. Hehe, thanks Steven and Steve for the help!

So Return Pump > barb (provided) > vinyl hose > barb > PVC?

Does it matter where I put in the "Y" fitting so I can split the returns to either side of the tank?

Will just gluing the pvc into slip bulkheads for the returns be enough to support the pvc pipe behind the tank? It will end up looking like a big Y.

No glue necessary on the drain right? Just the returns?

Thanks everyone!

Teflon on the threads, ya definitely. So like a big blob of silicone on the other side of the bulkhead (inside of the sump)?

Nope, no water... just a bunch of crap everywhere. Your old skimmer, two mp20's and an mp40w, tek 8 bulb with geisman lamps...

I was planning on racking everyone's brain this Friday on how I get get this tank filled. I've only got like 6 jugs and I'm not set up to make my own saltwater. I've got a truck, so maybe someone from the club would let me borrow a holding container, some line, and a pump... any ideas?
