Galaxy select-a-watt ballast
Thinking of buying one to use with 400 20k Radiums. I just don't know if it is worth going with this ballast or the Galaxy 400 watt E-ballast.
Anyone know what the 'turbo setting" is for? Thanks for your input |

It overdrives the 400W bulb on Turbo (HQI) setting. Definintely get the select a watt if you can. Its multiple uses make it easy to adapt to your needs as time changes. I just purchased the Radium/ Galaxy Select a watt setup in 400 and I am very pleased with the color I got over my 210 SPS.

Thanks for the feedback
When you have it on turbo, are the Radiums burning whiter?

That is correct. They are a nice mixture of blue/white which I really like and strived to achieve. When on Turbo there is a visual difference, leaning more to the white side. Until I get a PAR meter I will be running mine on 400 and as bulb life diminishes I will probably burn the remaining life in Turbo.
Visually there is a difference, and there is a video posted of the Lumateks (Galaxy ballast cased differently) burning on Turbo and Standard 250 with a jump in PAR levels when switched between the two. |

I thought the best par value (sanjay's chart) is radium on the old magnetic ballest.
