Tek Light Owners

Do you guys experience any buzzing noises from your fixture? Mine buzzes only when it is on. It appears to be coming from the reflector. I'm not sure if its a combination of the low hum from the bulbs plus any vibration coming from the tank itself. Just weird. Oh and it sits on the Tek legs.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

G.

I have a 48" eight bulb TEK on legs. No buzzing at all - totally quiet.
I would say you may have a ballast going out. I don't think they are too hard to replace.

If you turn the switches off one at a time, does it stop buzzing on one of the lights?

I have experienced a rattling type of sound coming from the fixture. It was the housing of the fixture due to vibrations from the Vortech pump. No electrical buzzing of any nature however on my 8x54
