Fish Capture
Okay I started a tank back in December and I put four damsels in it so my daughter would have something to look at well the tank was maturing. Well the Domino damsel has gotten big and aggressive, everytime i stick my hand in the tank to fix something or put a coral in he bits me. Even though he is only four inchs big it hurts. So I am in need of a few ways to catch him and get him out of my DT without removing all the rocks. Hoping for a few suggestions I am really tired of being bitten. Thanks for any ideas..

I had to tear my tank apart and and chase mine around for like an hour before I got them, they are a pain. Hope someone else has a better suggestion for you.

I always say that having to catch damsels is Karma punishing you for cycling your tank with living creatures.
You can try the traps. They might work. But honestly, I had to break down a 55 to get one out. |

this is the one of the main reasons people suggest not to cycle with damsels (also it's just mean).
For a 4 inch damsel I don't think you'll find a trap big enough. I'd say there is a good chance you will have to remove most of the rock and chase him into a small container to get him out. Those domino's are damned cute when they are little, but they lose the vivid black and the white spot and become satan spawns. |

I've caught them with fish traps - my tank wasn't quite big enough for a spear gun. Check with your LFS - sometimes they have traps you can borrow for a few days.
