How often should I replace Chemi pure elite ?

Hi

I have a 55g with fish and softies. I dont have a sump just a hob skimmer and hob filter. I use chemipure elite inside the filter pads. I change the 2 pads every 2 wks. How often should I replace Chemi pure elite sacks?

Also does chemipure really make a difference?

I believe that the resin used is virtually useless in the marine system; do a quick search of the chem forum or ask Randy what he knows about the stuff. I think it is like running DI resin in the reef tank; it expires very quickly. Have you considered running a mix of gac, purigen, gfo in media bag(s)? You could also run rather neatly a set of phosban Rx's hob.

I have been very successful with it. It gives a very nice polished look to the water and removes nitrates and phosphates. Depending on your bio-load it should last 2-4 months. I normally replace mine every 3 months. In my opinion its great stuff.

Thx....but my hob power filter has low flow thru the pads which have the CPelite...is that ok?
