Are LEDs all alike?? Help
Just added some blue LEDs to my 125g the effect is awesome, but it seems like I need more. Are some brighter than others? I heard that they come in different wattages. Is this true??

LEDs are all different. Which LEDs did you add? Generally the tictac shaped ones (5mm) LEDs are inneffiecent compared to the more expensive LEDs. Generally LED fixtures are made by using 3w Crees, Rebels, or BridgeLux arrays. The Cree line of LEDs are currently the most efficient, putting out the most light per watt. Also LEDs can come in many wattages, with some LED arrays being 50w

Are you talking junk as in short life span or poor wattage. As for right now they are looking decent, not great though

i don't think a bubble wand will give you same effect or intensity as other blue supplement led's like ecoxotic stunners or reefbrites

I'm setting up a tank that size with LED/T5. So far I have 7x par38's(that's 35 3w CREE's) and 6x39w T5's. The T5's are there to provide a broader spectrum and some "fill" color. I will eventually have a total of 10 par38's, which should be slight overkill, but will eliminate the spotlight effect.
