I use hot water to spray the salt off that accumulates (spelling?) on the glass. I then wipe dry and spray with a vinegar/water solution, and wipe dry again. It helps clean it up and leaves no streaks without using chemicals

Your welcome
Chemicals (windex, pledge, febreeze, etc) are now your worst enemies!!! lol I don't blame ya for not wanting to use them. Vinegar/Water solution also helps with cleaning just about anything when it comes to your tank. Or just hot water of course

Or better yet, get rid of the top glass, typically in a salt water tank you try to avoid topping the tank with something that is going to prevent the tank from off gassing, If you need something to keep the jumpers inside the tank try a net, but allow the tank to breathe.

I don't know what type of lights you have, but yes that can be a problem, and has to be a religious ritual of cleaning the salt creep off the lights with a wet cloth before they get to the point that you have to scrape it off. Would it be possible to get the lights higher and away from the tank?

Nah. I just rinse it out and wipe. Within an hour, there are condensation drops on it anyway, so I don't take any particular pains to make it "crystal clear".
