6' tank, t5's= 2x36" or 1x48"?
T5's, does a 48" fixture cover a 6' tank or do you use 2 36"ers? mostly going to be softies & fish, but would like to have options down the road....Halides are out of the question for the class tank.

60" is a good option. It only leaves 6" on each end not covered.

seems like 60 inch is very limited...saw a fixture at the depot and a few bulbs...but not much.

i'd go ATI sunpower 6x80, that will even outperform the tek 8x80...

I have a couple of them and like them alot, although the bulbs they come with are a POS in my experience. There are some that might put out more par, but they are twice as much frequently.

I'm setting up a 6ft tank and I'm going 60" retro's x 6 check out the bulb cost on 12 36" vs 6 60" its about 1/2 the cost and You also get a little more wattage running 60". ill have a set of leds covering the ends as well. plan on keeping a little of everything. reefgeek is the best online I've found, but aquarium specialty is pretty good to.
