My Auto Top off solution and ALK parms?

Watched a few podcasts and now am wondering where I can improve my auto top-off solution to better maintain stable water parms....

I am in the process of dialing in my Calc Reactor....

Please give thoughts on if this is good, bad or ugly;

I have completely automated the top-off process with RO/DI water reservoir, electronic float switches, mechanical float switches, relays, etc.. Working Great!

My concern;

I have reservoir tank (30g) being replenished by RO/DI unit daily. Float switch maintains at 1/2 full. I add nothing to the water. Float switches in the sump control a relay that will turn the pump in reservoir on/off as needed to add to sump top-off water.

My questions;

Will I forever be fighting this top-off water possibly bringing down my tank alk parms or working against the Calc Reactor? Is this why folks use Kalkwasser?

Effectively, water from the RO/DI unit finds it's way to my sump for top-off in same day. In otherwords, no additives, no 24 hour oxygenation type stuff....

Thoughts appreciated!

That setup will be fine with a calcium reactor. Adding kalk might help maintain pH a bit higher, but that's the only major effect it'd have. RO/DI water requires no aeration or additives.

If possible, I'd have the reservoir so the RO/DI can product 10-15 gallons at a time, at least. Maybe that's already the way it's running. The membrane works more efficiently that way.

I currently have it topping the reservoir off daily from previous days systems evaporation, however, may look to put the fill of reservoir to a weekly scenario as you suggest. Reservoir is 30g and I have float at 15g. Thanks for the input.
