Moon Lights and Controllers

I have a 75gal tank. I just ordered a 6 bulb Tek light fixture. These fixtures do not come with moonlights. Since my light has not arrived and i am looking for the timing alternative. I hear that the eight outlet power strips with a timer and not worth getting. I am wondering if i should use a controller, like reef keeper? I find that these are used for bigger systems than mine. If i was to get a controller i would be able to control moonlights! What moonlights would anyone recommend. I have looked into R2 moonlights, which are strips. Or should i go with something like a pod? As you can see i am very confused. I am looking for an alternative way to control my lamps and moonlights..and what would anyone recommend. Any comment would be great! Thank you!

You could get an RKL for $99 and add to it a RKM-MLC moonlight controller for $70. The RKM-MLC comes with two moonlight pods and is expandable up to 6 pods. Pods are available in blue and white. $169 is a lot of money for just moonlights, but if you were contemplating a controller for other things as well, the RKL is a great choice.

It is really a personal preference thing. You can control lights using something as simple as a Home Depot timer or you can use controllers to do lots more. I like using a controller because it keeps things in your tank more consistant. Lights come on and go off at the same time every day. Regular monitoring and adjusting things based on the results of that monitoring can be invaluable.
