Just Ordered My AutoTopOff.com ATO Today!!!

I can't wait to get it in the mail. Has anyone had experience with these? I ordered the dual float switch system to prevent failure. I am going to New York soon and i have to idiot proof my tank for my brother.

p.s. I have a 55 gallon with a 5 gallon Kalkwasser filled bucket being pumped through an aqualifter.

Thanks to all who reply!

same system with 2 years and no issues. I bought it used, so it's been running longer than that. I'd say it's reliable

I ran the dual on my 200 that was fed directly from the RO unit for about two years with no problems.

I now run the single float on my 14 gallon nano. I wigged out once on me and luckily there was only a 1/2 gallon in the reservoir so it wasn't that bad. It seems to be cool now.

I own this exact same setup. No problems for over 2 years. I would suggest it to those looking for auto top off for their tank system.

Thank you everyone! I cant wait to get it and try it out! Finally no more lugging buckets or worrying about parameter swings! i was wondering how large of a water drop triggers the switch? obviously it can't be to large if everyone is so happy with it.

ill be using an aqua lifter. i wanted something that will not over flow my tank even if both switches fail(super unlikely). The second bonus is it can run dry with no harm to the pump and its only 20 bucks shipped on MD.com

Depends on how large your sump is and where in your sump you place it. I've been running the dual setup for about 2 years now with an AC3 and its awesome. the only problem i had was when i placed the output of my calcium and kalkwasser reactor right next to the switch and after about 1 year lime and scale built up on the switch and locked it in the on position. Thankfully i had my AC3 programmed to only dose a few minutes at a time and only at 1 hour intervals when the lights are off. I caught it before the 2nd float shut things off but its nice to know i had that safety net. Lesson learned. Don't put this switch anywhere near your calcium or kalkwasser reactors output. Since relocating it, its been flawless.
