Are T5's sufficient for sunset monti?

Hi,

I have a 36"x12"x16" tank with an AquaticLife fixture with 2x39W 700+ and 2x39W 420/460 bulbs. Is that sufficient lighting for a sunset monti if I placed it on my highest rock? It'd be about 10" below the bottom of the fixture? Or would it waste away and I'd be throwing away $$ on the frag?

Yes they are T5 HO.

Do monti's require any special feeding? The only other thing I have in my tank are zoas, I don't add anything extra for them.

t5's should do the trick, just make sure you keep those parameters stable, other than that, sit back and watch it grow...

We have an ATI fixture with 4x ATI T5 bulbs and my montis really love that light. But my sunset monti does really well under my Radiums too.

They seem to thrive best under high intense lighting.

Yes T5s are sufficient to to keep everything that is normally available in the hobby. The question is if there are enough T5s of high enough output, and in your case I would say yes.
