API Ntrate and Sulfur Denitrator effluent
I'm 7 days into a Sulfur Denitrator startup. When testing the effluent for nitrate drop with an API kit the part one which is usually bright yellow turns an orangish/brown before the addition of part 2. After adding part 2 and waiting the prescribed 5 minutes it shows app. 5-10. This is a good drop from60-80 but I don't trust it because of the color change with part 1. Is there something about the sulfur reactor and media that would cause this?

I can't think of any reason the nitrate kit should have a problem, but that's very soon for a denitrator to be working. I guess I wouldn't worry much yet.
