Get a pendant light with a hanging kit. Side bar my friend has a 54 gallon corner tank and we are trying to determine who makes it. It has a overflow and it is curved, and it has slots on the top and slots on the bottom with what appears as void in between where the water goes from the bottom to the top, sorry for the obscure description.

it sounds like an old all glass overflow can't have it hanging

I have the 36 gallon version. I use a metal halide pendant, but I have a DIY cree xpg led hood ready to be put up.

Hey Bob,

When I had my 54 corner, I used a 250 watt pendant over my 54 tank. I built a "hanging" kit out of 2x4's that sat on the edge of the tank. I'm not sure if I have any pictures of it, but if I do I will send them to you.

But it is a simple build and I can probably walk you through it if interested.

Keith

I am using the AquaIlluminations LED system and have it suspended above the tank. It is very difficult to put a light fixture on this size tank with legs. Suspension is really the only way.
FYI, I am building a very simple "hood" to go around my LED's. It will be oak and only surround the outside of the cases, not the top. This is just to improve the appearance of the setup and serve no actual function.
