Silent external pump recommendations needed
hey all ..
i want to have about 2000-3000 gallons/hour of flow .... i would prefer to use extrenal pumps ... i can have 1 or 2 pumps to accomplish this... the key is quiet/silent... its in a very quiet room and we sit right next to the tank... what does everyone recommend? |

Might be a little on the low side for flow, but the Velocity/Poseidon pumps are dead silent.

What is the purpose of this pump setup? Return pump? Closed loop? As above, you wont find anything quieter than the Velocity/Poseidon pumps. They are basically silent.

it will be for sump turnover....
tank will have 5 vortechs so that will cover heavy flow in tank... sump will have skimmer and refugium |

Reeflo Dart would be my recommendation as long as you don't have a lot of crazy head.

If you're running 2000 to 3000 gph through your sump you must have one heck of a display!

That is a lot of flow for an 80G sump. Why so much? Have you considered the noise level of 5 Vortechs?

Be sure to get the dart with the baldor motor - much better than the AO motor the older come with (but both are great pumps, regardless of motor). The new motor just seems heftier.
