hood mold and fans
I put the hood on my 120g for the first time last week. I then left town for a few days. When I returned I found that the inside of the hood was moist and mold had grown all over the inside.
If I install a few fans in the hood to move the air around, will this drop the humidity enough to prevent the mold from growing? The mold came right off when I took a paper towel to it. Should I be concerned about the mold or is installing a few fans good enough? I am a nervous new parent to my first reef tank. Thanks for any advice. |

Never had a fully enclosed hood but my neighbor does and he just has some slots on the back of it which hasn't given him any problems. I would be worried about the mold to and like you said possibly add a fan or two if there's already some openings in it.

What kind of lighting do you have in the hood? Chances are you need to vent heat anyway.
