can all corals of the same species touch eachother?

Does color make a difference? What corals of different species can touch each other as well?

Generally speaking, it is not safe for any corals to touch eachother. Same species doesn't help, unless it is two pieces of the same coral.

I've seen some exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb two corals shouldn't touch. There is a picture on here about two different color monticaps that grew into eachother without problem.

I have many mushrooms touching each other with no ill effects. As well as 4 differnt colored colonies of zoas. I also seen someone that had a hammer and a frogspawn touching and no problems.

zoas dont really count in this lol. any zoas touching other zoas wont do anything besides maybe slow grow due to lack of room to spread.:-)

The problem with this question is there doesn't seem to be any consistency. I have a Idaho Grape and a birdsnest growing together right now and they are fine. My orange digi just touch a green slimer colony and good bye slimer. Grrr
