Upgrading to a 75 gallon..Questions

I plan on upgrading instead of adding a sump to my 29 gallon tank. I plan on having in over flow box with 2 "1 inch holes draining into the sump,1 pipe going to the skimmer section and the other going to the refugium section,With the return in the middle. The tube/pipe from the pump will split into a T and return to both return holes on the right and left side of the aquarium for max flow.

Equipment I plan on using:
Eheim 1262- as return pump
Super Reef Octopus XP1000 Space Saver
8 bulb tek light
30 or 40 gallon sump
2 Hydor Koralia 1050gh

I plan on using cheateo and a sand bed for my refugium. I plan on keeping SPS in the future.

Is there anything you woud recommend or do differently?
Thanks for all the help

oh wow, if you are planning on SPS you are going to need WAY more flow, i had 3 koralia 1s in a 20 long and it was not enough flow for most SPS. if you got 3's you could prolly do monti's and birdsnests, if you want acros you are going to need a lot more. good lighting and return pump, octopus does good skimmers so you should be set there as well.

i think that should be good, if you get the new ones you might want to consider a wave maker so there is variable flow

I have one Koralia 3 on each side of my 75 gallon and I have all the flow I need. Everything you listed looks top notch. The 8 bulb fixture may even be overkill depending what you plan on doing with the tank. If you want it heavy SPS then it sounds great. The wavemaker is a really good idea too. I tend to get a pretty laminar flow with the pumps always pushing the same water in the same direction. Good luck and take it slow!

Looks like you are set for equipment plans. Best thing to do once you get your equipment is start a build thread. With lots of pics. We, or at least I, are pic crazy. Youy'll get lot's of comments and advice.

Good luck!! Looking forward to kibitzing on your build thread!
