75 gal sump on 75 gal dt

i was wanting to drill 3 holes in the back of my 75 that went straight down/up to and from the sump. ive attached a pic so you can see what im talking about, but i didnt know if it would work or not. the right side i would have a valve that i could control the flow into the fuge and the left side would have one but be full on no blockage, the center would be the return tube. im also having an issue in trying to figure out how to have the pipes that will be flowing into the sump configured, to where there wont be loud splashing or lots of bubbles...any help is greatly appreciated!

better to do the beananimal, have both regulars drain to the sump, then feed the fuge off the return. Doing it the way you're describing, you wouldn't be able to control the flow to the fuge very well, using a gate valve to do that via a drain isn't the best way to do it.

check out beananimals silent safe overflow.

You put a "T" fitting on the return line, and put a ball valve on the side outlet, leading to your fuge. That way you can completely turn off the flow, or adjust it easily to manage the flow.

look up BeanAnimal's silent and failsafe drain system. You'll understand what I mean. Or read through the "sump walkthrough" thread here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=1872635
