Tank re-seal

Just needed to no I have a 55gl. tank I was going to start up as a salt tank it was a freshwater at one time, should I remove all of the sealer and replace new it never leaked when I took it down Thanks

as long as you didn't use any copper treatment or anything like that, no, it should be fine.

no it never had any copper in it was going to set it up for my granddaughter with some clowns and softies Thanks

I doubt that you really need to but if you decide to do it it's not very difficult. I just did a 180 that I'm putting together. Break out a razor blade and carefully slice/scrape out what you can then remove the rest with acetone and steel wool. Mask the seams off with painters tape and put down fresh RTV (RTV103 or RTV108). I put a container of water in mine and then sealed it with plastic wrap to bring the humidity up inside while the RTV was curing. Easy job and my seams look great.
