recirc vs reg skimmer

ok, i have read alot of threads in reguards of different types brands ect. i've owned a couple of skimmer's, never anything supposed high end though, few asm's, few er's,vertex in180, octopus, swc 160 and 200, etss's rd, sb40 and 60 tried a bermuda bpc 3, and now have a das ex 1 recirc. and a ex 2 but it's a inch to tall and can't run it out of tank really want to try it though, anyways, seeing the actually amount of water entering a reg whether cone of reg. compared a recirc, my system is about 80g total wv, and been around that on all the tanks ive had, except nano's. so now in all actualality wouldnt something injecting more water be more effective, do understand the becketts alot of flow. now i do understand a recirc is more effective processing x amount of water, plus ive never had a overflow with it so if you have owned a few skimmer's what do you think, and what skimmer, how long did you run it also ?

I have owned quite a few skimmers and love my GEO beckett the best. I had a GEO re-circ before and it was nice as well but the re-circ produces some nast basty stuff, more so than any other skimmer I have owned, now on the other hand it also consumes alot of power due to a 3600 GPH feed pump on it. The re-circ was a nice set it and forget it when I was not running an auto top off as it is gravity fed off one of the drains in the tank. I was running these skimmers on my 220 gallon reef that is stocked heavily.
