Chaeto lighting?

I was just wondering how much light is need to successfully grow chaeto? Right now i have a 36 watt pc dual day light bulb then i have a 24 inch fluorescent plant light? do i need more. I only have trimed it back twice now since the fall of 09' The reason i am asking is because i am constantly having hair algae problems. i have a bunch of hermit crabs of all different types in there.

ure lighting is enough

how mcuh is the flow ? do you trim the cheato ?

tjhe parts under side which get less light could die and give fuel to hair algea.

cheato is best troubled, but since we dont have that much flow break it into balls and rotte the balls as often as you can and remove them as they get a bit bigger. remember, cheato growing is only effective when you remove it while alive

I don't think you should dose iron. And putting chaeto in a fuge isn't going to magically make your nuisance algae go away. You may still have enough extra nutrients in your tank to sustain a bunch more algae in your display.
