Need help with invasive species!
I've got these nice colored zoas, but a couple days ago, I noticed the grey/dark colored cylinder shape thing with a hole at the top forming over one of the zoas....what exactly is it? I think it is on two of the individual zoas right now but I'm definitely worried this thing will spread. Does anyone have any idea what i might be talking about? I would take a picture but I don't think it would show up on the picture easily. How can I get rid of this thing, It looks like a tube something or other.

Could it be vermatid snails? http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rs/index.php They can get to be a problem when they multiply. It really is more of a irritation to the coral though. I've taken a syringe filled with hot water and injected it into the tube to kill it, then broken off the tube. Simply breaking off the tube usually doesn't work. The snail can pull itself pretty far down into the shell, and when you go to break it off, generally the lowest part of the shell remains, with the snail in it.

Man im not too sure thats it. kinda tough to tell. to the touch it is definitely pretty tough, and I would say the color of it just looks like a grey shadow almost. should I just pull the coral out and do a little surgury to remove this guy?
