Adding LR rock to refugium of established tank

Right now my fuge is an empty space to grow chaeto. It is BB with no LR. My tank has been up and running for around 9 months. Would there be any consequences to adding LR and Sand to it? Could I add dry LR directly to it. I would probably bleach it and let it sit in the sun for a few days to be sure it is clean and phosphate free.

why bother bleaching dry rock, dry rock should be clean maybe rinse with water but otherwise yeah add away no problems adding only when taking stuff out.

I'd just go ahead and add it with no bleaching. Sure, there will be some die off, maybe a mini cycle, but the established biofiltration of the tank should be more than up to the task, and you get the advantage of pods and critters from the added live rock.

So are you saying it would be fine to add uncured live rock to the system?

If it's live rock from an established tank drop it right in no problem. If it's dry rock then I would only add a little at a time each week just to be sure.

As for the sand, if it's dry sand just rinse and add. If it's live I would rinse that as well. You can have some serious problems by adding a lot of "live" sand to your tank.
