Need help quick!!!

My pinpoint thermometer fell in the tank earlier today and I just came home to find all my corals closed up and shedding. Is there anything that I can do to save them...water change?, run carbon, wet skimming?

Can I put them in my other tank for now or will this affect that tank too???

I would put them in another tank and do a major water change / test water. Not sure how much carbon would do. Maybe Amqeul in addition to water change.

I've never actually had it happen to me, so I really am just guessing.

will it b ok without acclimating them to the other tank? I use the same water and salt just the temp is a little higher in the other tank.

Should be. Especially if it's just temporary. I have second tank that I use as well. I've never actually acclimated anything I've put in it.

But, I'm thinking that it could be safer than any leakage from the thermometer. The pinpoint uses batteries, right? Was there any battery discharge or leakage?

What size tank do you have that you changed 9g?

Has anything else been affected besides the corals?

Do you have a skimmed? If so, try skimming wet. Also, you may want to try and post this in the water chemistry forum. You may get some good feedback

I think the plan on moving the stuff to the other tank is your best bet. I have two tanks and if I ever notice one coral not doing well in one tank and can not figure out what is going on . I move it to the other and it usually does a lot better.

It is definitely one of the benefits of having two tanks. I used to try to acclimate them now I just move from one tank to the other .

I think a couple or three water changes ,carbon and wet skimming will help. I am thinking it might not be the battery leaking but the corrosian of the metal coating of the battery itself.
