If it's the regular Aqua C Remora and not the Pro, Marine Depot sells them at $150 new...
Otherwise, decent skimmer, if you want a HOB skimmer and don't have a large tank. Jeff |

The Remoras are not designed to live in a sump (I guess they could hang on one...). There are others that are much better for not too much more money. And a lot of those are available used as well.

Just curious but where did you read these reviews? MD?
Also what size tank and what are you doing with it will determine skimmer options. If you head over to the equipment subforum post in the skimmer Q and A thread or simply read a few pages to get an idea of your options. |

With a sump you have much better options than a hang on. If you really want a HOB there is a new line out that is a copy of the WM's and they run right at $200.
Again go post in the equipment forum and Mojo will answer your questions. |

remora's are not known to be "quiet" in my opinion. there are ways to quiet them down but
i would never call them quiet out of the box. |

I owned an Aqua C, and personally don't think they are worth the money. The spray injector idea is cool, but the problem is that it produces coarse bubbles with a short dwell time. This is why Remora users often have to wait days to catch any skimmate.
For in sump there are a billion other better options. For HOB, there just isn't much competiton. I'll take a standard needle based skimmer over a Remora anyday. Plus, I thougt mine was noisy. |
