Solid Concrete Ceiling, how should I hang my ATI Sunpower?

Just moved into a new place, assuming the ceiling was drywall with studs, but to my surprise it is solid concrete.

Would it be safe to get masonry screws, pre-drill a small hole and screw it into the cable hanging kit? My only other option is making a wall hanging fixture out of conduit piping, but I would rather do the first method if possible.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Hang it with these, you will need a hammer drill and a then a set pin, use 1/4".
You drill a hole and then put this anchor in, then hit the set pin with a hammer inside the anchor. A 1/4 anchor will hold a few hundred pounds each. We hang 1000's of lbs from the 3/8's ancors at work all the time.

Don't use the blue anchors that lots of people use in drywall, they are not meant to hold much weight hanging like that.

I agree with Jeff. I am a structural engineer and those anchors will do the trick and won't impact the structural integrity of the concrete either.

Thanks so much guys. I actually already have a 1/4" masonry drill bit, so just pre drill, hammer and wallah? I wasn't expecting it to be this easy - thanks again.

For a 1/4" insert you will need a 3/8 bit I think.
Structural concrete will not be easy to drill with a non hammer drill, and if the building is more then a few years old then even a combo drill will not be easy.
Just keep that in mind

The 1/4" insert fits snuggly into the 1/4' bit hole. The trouble is that I think I picked up the wrong type of anchor/insert... Looks like I'll be heading back to home depot later tonight or tomorrow.

this is what I picked up:

Edit: I think this would actually work but the more I think about it the more permanent it feels (I'm renting, going to have to take it out eventually), I think the same thing except a screw would work much better for a faster setup and easier to dismantle. I realize that you pictured a screw set one, my mistake.
