Maroon Clown spazzed out?

So I'm repairing my tank from a crash and I'm slowly restocking. I have a 29g biocube and in this tank I had a maroon clownfish. Real small like an inch and a half long. I had him about a week and then I bought another maroon that was about twice the size of the original. And also added a long tentacle anemone. The big one hosted immediately in it. That was one week ago. Today when I was adding another fish I noticed the larger maroon was swimming all crazy. Doing backflips and barrel rolls and kick flips. This lasted about 30 seconds and he stopped sank to the bottom and my peppermint shrimp immediately came out an started to chow down. Nothing else was affected. All other fish are good. What could have happened?

The inevitable.
Two Maroon clowns is too much for a 29 gallon tank. Especially if you want ANY other fish in the tank.
Maroons get big and very territorial, quickly.
I honestly don't know what happened, but in the end it is for the best.

Maroons are very difficult to successfully pair if you don't know what you're doing. As Uncle Salty said, a 29g is a bit small to begin with. Although it does take awhile for them to get to full size, they do get quite large. I think females can grow to about 4" or more. There's a sticky in the Clownfish and anemone forum that talks about pairing maroon clownfish. Bottom line, you generally can't get away with just putting two of them in the same tank together, regardless of their size difference.
