ABC News Video: Pet Jellyfish Startup

From the San Francisco Bay Area local TV news:

San Francisco Startup Company is Making Nano Tanks for Pet Jellyfish

Link to the video is here: http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?sec...sco&id=7638602

What do the reefers think?

Keeping jellyfish? Eh, something new needs to be added to marine aquaria. It would be interesting if this thing took off

His "custom" tanks? Silly if you ask me. It looks like gravel and marbles with a sponge filter. I would never pay 400 dollars for one of those tanks.

Fish and corals are better. No color with the Jellies.

There are color-changing LEDs you can add to the tank and the jellyfish will pick up those colors: http://www.jellyfishart.com/Color-LED-p/clrlght.htm

Jellyfish might be interesting to keep. I wish they could find a way to keep them in a reef, I'd pay $400 to buy something that would let me keep them in a reef.

They are generally found in open waters. Usually, if a fish comes in contact with their tentacles = bye bye fish. Also, the stinging war between the corals and jellies would be pretty bad. The jelly would more than likely win as well.

Also, just watched the video. That is such a bad idea that he has going, but suckers will eat it up. The tanks don't even... nevermind, I'm not going to get into it.

+1. This is such a joke.

I watched some of the videos and in every one, there's a jellyfish that's stuck at the bottom, swimming upside down into the pebbles. These guys need special tanks with circular flow to keep them in suspension.

I enjoy watching jellyfish in tanks (when done correctly).

It is very relaxing to be honest.

I am a full supporter of:

And this vid probably did not embed, so, it's a video... of fake jellyfish.

EDIT: Oh, hey it worked!
